Dog Walking in Clinton Township, MI

Fear Free, Enrichment-Based Walks That Do More Than Burn Energy

Your dog deserves more than a quick loop around the block.

At Planet Paws Pet Care, our walks are designed to support your dog’s physical exercise, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being — all while keeping them safe, comfortable, and stress-free.

Whether you’re at work, dealing with a busy schedule, or just need an extra hand, you can count on professional care that puts your dog first. Always.

Who Our Dog Walking Service Is For

Our walks are a great fit for:

  • Busy professionals working long hours
  • Retirees who need help with a high-energy dog
  • Dogs that get bored, restless, or destructive during the day
  • Dogs that benefit from routine, structure, and enrichment
  • Pet parents who want more than a “quick potty break”

If your goal is to come home to a happy, relaxed dog instead of a stressed or over-energized one, you’re in the right place.

What a Walk With Planet Paws Looks Like

Every walk is customized to your dog’s needs, personality, and energy level.

Each visit includes:

  • A full 30-minute one-on-one walk
  • Walks tailored to your dog’s pace (not rushed or forced)
  • Enrichment-focused time (sniffing, exploring, mental stimulation)
  • Fresh water check
  • Reinforcement of good leash manners
  • Lots of attention and care

After every visit, you’ll receive a detailed update through the Time To Pet app, including:

  • GPS-tracked walk
  • Photos
  • Notes on behavior, energy level, and anything important

You’ll always know exactly how your dog is doing.

What Makes Our Dog Walks Different

There’s a big difference between someone who walks dogs… and a trained professional who understands them.

At Planet Paws Pet Care, we focus on:

Fear Free Approach

We reduce stress, anxiety, and overwhelm by respecting your dog’s comfort level and body language.

Reading Your Dog’s Behavior

We pay attention to subtle cues — adjusting the walk if your dog is nervous, overstimulated, or needs space.

Enrichment-Based Walks

Sniffing isn’t “wasting time” — it’s mental exercise. We encourage safe exploration to keep your dog engaged and fulfilled.

One-on-One Attention

No pack walks. No rushing between dogs. Your dog gets our full attention every visit.

Safety First

We never put your dog in situations that could cause stress or risk — whether that’s weather, environment, or interactions. Every walk is one-on-one and customized — whether your dog needs a structured walk or a full sniffari.

Do I need to be home during the walk?

Nope! Most of our clients are not home. We’ll securely access your home and make sure everything is locked up when we leave.

Do you walk multiple dogs together?

We walk multiple dogs from the same household, as they’re already familiar and comfortable with each other. For safety, we do not combine dogs from different households. This allows us to keep every walk focused, controlled, and tailored to each dog’s needs.

What happens in bad weather?

If conditions aren’t safe, we’ll adjust the visit to a “Potty & Play” instead. Your dog still gets care and attention — just in a safer way.

How do I know my dog was walked?

You’ll receive a GPS-tracked report card with photos and notes after every visit.

Dog Boarding in Clinton Township, MI

Fear Free, home-style dog boarding with personalized care

When you need to be away, your dog deserves more than a crowded facility or a stressful kennel environment. At Planet Paws Pet Care, boarding is designed to feel more like a bed-and-breakfast for dogs than a traditional boarding setup.

Your dog stays in my home, follows a routine as close to their normal schedule as possible, and gets care built around their comfort, personality, and needs. I keep things low-key, structured, and intentional so your dog can settle in and feel safe.

If you are looking for dog boarding in Clinton Township or Macomb County with a more personal touch, you are in the right place.

A calmer kind of boarding

I only board up to two guest dogs at a time, which allows me to provide more individualized care and keep the environment relaxed. This is a good fit for dogs who do well in a home setting and benefit from more attention, consistency, and less chaos.

My boarding approach is rooted in Fear Free principles, which means I focus on reducing stress, reading body language, and helping dogs feel comfortable rather than overwhelmed.

What’s included with boarding

Every boarding stay includes care tailored to your dog’s routine and comfort level, including:

  • Staying in a real home environment
  • A fully fenced yard for outdoor time
  • Plenty of potty breaks and supervision
  • Enrichment activities and attention throughout the stay
  • Feeding based on your dog’s normal schedule
  • Dogs fed in separate rooms for safety and comfort
  • Free medication administration, including injections if needed
  • Daily updates and photos through Time To Pet
  • A low-volume, low-chaos setting with a Fear Free approach

I also do my best to follow your home routines, including things like couch privileges, feeding preferences, and other habits your dog is used to.

Is this the right fit for your dog?

Boarding at Planet Paws Pet Care is best for dogs who:

  • Are comfortable in a home environment
  • Are social with other dogs
  • Can handle a lower-key setting
  • Are crate trained
  • Do well with a structured routine
  • Would benefit from a more personal experience than a large boarding facility

Because I want every dog to be safe and comfortable, a meet and greet is required before boarding.

Boarding requirements

For the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in my care, boarding dogs must:

  • Be crate trained
  • Be social and able to do well around other dogs
  • Be current on the following vaccines:
    • Rabies
    • Leptospirosis
    • Distemper / DHPP
    • Bordetella
    • Canine Influenza
  • Complete a free meet and greet before their first stay

The meet and greet helps make sure your dog is a good fit for the environment and gives us a chance to talk through their routine, preferences, quirks, and care needs

Why pet parents choose Planet Paws Pet Care for boarding

There are a lot of boarding options out there. What makes this one different is the combination of:

  • A true home environment
  • A Fear Free Certified Professional approach
  • Pet First Aid and CPR certification
  • Small-scale, personalized care
  • Enrichment-focused attention
  • Clear communication and daily updates
  • A sitter who pays attention to both the emotional and physical wellbeing of the dogs in his care

This is not a one-size-fits-all boarding setup. It is thoughtful, personal care for dogs who do best with a more intentional experience.

How to get started

Getting started is simple:

1. Reach out

Contact me to discuss your dog, travel dates, and whether boarding seems like the right fit.

2. Schedule a free meet and greet

We’ll meet ahead of time so I can get to know your dog and make sure everyone is comfortable.

3. Book your dog’s stay

Once approved, your dog’s boarding stay can be scheduled through Time To Pet.

Drop-off and pick-up windows

To help boarding days run smoothly, drop-offs and pick-ups are scheduled during the following windows:

Weekdays: 7:00 AM–10:00 AM and 4:00 PM–7:00 PM
Weekends: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

Clients are asked to schedule their drop-off and pick-up times at least 72 hours in advance.

Boarding Prices

Regular Overnight = $55/night

Puppy Overnight = $60/night

Additional Dog = $40/night

Holiday = $10/night

Do you board a lot of dogs at once?

No. I only board up to two guest dogs at a time, which keeps the environment calm, structured, and more personalized than a traditional facility.

What are the requirements for boarding?

Dogs must be crate trained, social with other dogs, and up to date on Rabies, Leptospirosis, Distemper (DHPP), Bordetella, and Canine Influenza. A meet and greet is required before the first stay.

Will my dog be comfortable in your home?

That’s the goal. I follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, use a Fear Free approach, and provide a low-key, home-style environment designed to reduce stress.

Will I get updates during my dog’s stay?

Yes. You’ll receive daily updates and photos through Time To Pet, so you always know how your dog is doing.

Potty and Play Visits

Flexible, Fear Free care when your dog needs a break—but not a full walk

Not every dog needs a walk.
But every dog still needs care.

Potty & Play visits are designed for those in-between moments—when your dog needs a potty break, some attention, and a little enrichment… without the structure of a full walk.

Whether you’re out for the day, the weather isn’t cooperating, or your dog simply isn’t up for a walk, each visit is customized to meet their needs.

When Is a Potty & Play Visit the Right Fit?

This service is ideal for:

  • Long days out (games, events, dinner, nights out)
  • Dogs who can’t comfortably go all day without a break
  • Senior dogs or dogs with mobility limitations
  • Reactive or anxious dogs who don’t enjoy walks
  • Puppies still working on bladder control.
  • Bad weather days when a walk isn't safe.

Perfect for long workdays, evenings out, senior dogs, or days when a full walk just isn’t the right fit.

Weather Happens—Your Dog Still Gets Care

Safety always comes first.

If conditions make a walk unsafe due to heat, ice, storms, or other factors, we automatically adjust the visit to a Potty & Play.

Your dog still receives:

  • A safe potty break
  • Enrichment and interaction
  • Calm, attentive care

No skipped visits. Just the right care for the moment.

Customized for Your Dog

Every visit is tailored to your dog’s energy level, personality, and needs that day.

Visits may include:

  • A potty break in the yard or a short, low-pressure outing
  • Enrichment activities like sniffing, treat searches, or toys
  • Calm companionship and attention
  • Fresh water refresh
  • Feeding (if requested)
  • Medication administration at no additional charge

Some dogs want to play.
Some just want a calm presence.

We meet them where they are—every visit.

Fear Free, Always

We use a Fear Free approach to create a positive, low-stress experience.

That means:

  • No forcing walks or interactions
  • Reading body language and comfort levels
  • Letting your dog move at their own pace
  • Creating a calm, safe environment every time

Because a stressed dog doesn’t benefit from “just getting it done.”

Stay Connected Every Visit

After each visit, you’ll receive an update through Time To Pet, including:

  • Notes on your dog’s behavior and mood
  • Potty updates
  • Photos from the visit

So even when you’re away, you’re never out of the loop.

Service Area

Potty & Play is available in Clinton Township and nearby Macomb County communities, including:

Sterling Heights, Warren, Clinton Township, Harrison Township, Mount Clemens, Roseville, and St. Clair Shores.

If you’re unsure whether you’re in the service area, just reach out and ask.

Getting Started

All new clients begin with a free meet & greet so we can learn your dog’s routine, answer your questions, and make sure everyone is a great fit.

Holidays Include:

New Years Day, Memorial Day Weekend (Fri-Mon), Independence Day, Labor Day Weekend (Fri-Mon), Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day.

Potty & Play Visits Prices

30 minute visit = $25/visit

60 minute visit = $40/visit

Holiday Visits = $10 Extra per day

Is this the same as a dog walk?

No. This is a flexible visit based on your dog’s needs. If a short outing makes sense, we can include it, but the focus is on comfort—not completing a structured walk.

How long is the visit?

Visits are typically 30 or 60 minutes, giving your dog time to relax, reset, and get the care they need.

Can this replace a walk?

Yes. In many cases—especially for senior dogs, bad weather days, or dogs who don’t enjoy walks—it’s the better option.

Vacation Care in your Home

Vacation Care for Dogs & Cats in Macomb County

Fear Free, in-home pet sitting for pets who are happiest staying in their own home

When you travel, your pets don’t have to.

Planet Paws Pet Care provides professional, in-home vacation care for dogs and cats in Clinton Township and surrounding Macomb County communities. Your pets stay in the comfort of their own home while receiving reliable, customized care from a certified professional.

This is the ideal option for pets who thrive on routine, prefer familiar surroundings, or may feel stressed in a boarding environment.

Keep Your Pet’s Routine—Without the Stress of Boarding

Vacation care allows your pets to stay where they feel safest—at home.

Instead of adjusting to a new environment, new smells, and new routines, your pet gets to stick with what they know. That means less stress, more comfort, and a smoother experience while you’re away.

Whether it’s a dog who needs regular potty breaks and playtime, or a cat who just wants their space respected (but still expects top-tier service), care is tailored to fit their needs.

What’s Included in Each Visit

Every visit is customized, but most vacation care visits include:

  • Feeding and fresh water
  • Potty breaks for dogs
  • Walks when appropriate
  • Litter box scooping for cats
  • Medication administration if needed
  • Playtime and enrichment
  • Calm companionship and attention
  • Bringing in mail or packages
  • Basic home check-ins for added peace of mind

The goal is simple: keep your pet safe, comfortable, and cared for while maintaining their normal routine.

A Fear Free Approach to Pet Sitting

Not every pet greets a new person like a long-lost best friend—and that’s okay.

Planet Paws Pet Care uses a Fear Free approach, focusing on your pet’s emotional wellbeing as much as their physical care. That means:

  • Reading body language and comfort levels
  • Allowing pets to warm up at their own pace
  • Avoiding force, pressure, or overwhelming interactions
  • Creating a calm, low-stress experience during each visit

For shy, anxious, or cautious pets, this approach can make all the difference.

Professional Care You Can Trust

Your pets are cared for by a trained professional, not a revolving door of random sitters.

Planet Paws Pet Care is:

  • Fear Free Certified
  • Pet First Aid & CPR Certified
  • NAPPS Certified
  • A member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters

Every visit is backed by experience, training, and a commitment to doing what’s best for your pet—not just what’s convenient.

Updates While You’re Away

You shouldn’t have to wonder how things are going at home.

During your trip, you’ll receive updates through Time To Pet, including notes and photos when appropriate. You’ll know your pet is safe, cared for, and sticking to their routine—so you can actually enjoy being away.

Is Vacation Care the Right Fit?

This service is a great fit for:

  • Dogs who prefer their home environment
  • Cats (because… of course it is)
  • Pets who get anxious with boarding
  • Senior pets or pets with medical needs
  • Multi-pet households
  • Pet parents who want consistent, professional care
